A new set called the Child Abduction Response Group, or CART, assembles members from agencies all over the area for a collaborative effort against these cases.
"Any time a child gets lost, everybody's frantic and we desire them to know that we're doing our own part to be prepared and have a swift response in order to deal with the item," said CART sponsor Jennifer Protzman.
Protzman works for the city of St. Frederick, but is using her years of experience dealing with child abuse in addition to abduction cases to take charge of the CART program.
In the event children goes missing, or if there's an Emerald Alert, Protzman is contacted, and she gets the CART members planning.

"Everybody [needs] to learn their role ahead of time and so there's no hesitation and no time period delay," Protzman said.
