The Easy Living Expo, now in its fourth year, will bring attention to the wide range of goods and services that are offered in the downtown core that could help make life easier, more enjoyable and more rewarding.
"This event focuses on downtown's diversity of products and services, and emphasizes the benefits of the 'shop local, live local' theme, while offering a day with a serious focus on fun," said Grace Murray, the promotions and marketing co ordinator with the Downtown Truro Partnership, which is hosting Saturday's expo at the Best Western Plus Glengarry.
"This expo sort of came to my mind as an offspring to the seniors expo. Exhibits will feature topics such as health and fitness, recreation, food, fashion, esthetics, and community programs, among others.
"All of these things and more are available right here in our downtown core. The Easy Living Expo celebrates that diversity and the convenience it provides for consumers," Murray said.
Each year, between 450 and 550 people attend the expo, and organizers are hoping the same number will stop by this year.
New exhibitors this year include Wink Day Spa, the Rath Eastlink Community Centre, Bistro 22, the Canadian Federation of University Women, the Arthritis Society, LL Masonry and Sinful Bites, to name a few.
"But even if they were there before, there is always something new," Murray said. "They may have new products or services, or they may be mutta pelasi hyvin taas doing something new there. You never know what they might be offering."
The co ordinator also noted some local consumers sometimes shop elsewhere because they don't know what is available locally.
"This expo provides a unique means of focusing on the excellent selection of first rate goods and services available in our downtown, while creating a fun experience for those who attend," she added.
