Following the Christmas season a year ago, the 1863 Grill in Elkins sealed its doors for a period of half a year for a complete remodel and overhaul of the interior. That remodel is nearing completion and also the restaurant is reopening to the general public on Wednesday.
The 1863 Barbecue grill has been bringing Elkins top quality style for over 50 years, and when reopening, their flavor will have a new sense thanks to a completely remodeled dining area. The restaurant has been in operation inside Elkins since 1950 under various owners, and its newest and present-day owners have had this remodel planned since they completed when buying both the hotel and eating place in May 2013.
