Vicki McGahee and Brenda Stalzer spent months going to more than 30 residential care homes across the state. They went in to inspect the actual living conditions, life plus safety features, and the overall quality lifestyle these facilities provide for nys poor and disabled.

Stalzer and McGahee benefit a unit called Protection and also Advocacy, a group that helps DHEC inspect residential care homes. Next, most people visited Miles Residential Attention Home on Koon Store Path near Blythewood. We saw trouble before it starts with the DHEC food inspection quality of "C" posted on the entry.
We saw cluttered sitting places for residents, a back room used as storage, along with a nearly blocked wheel desk chair ramp   all violations.
