The truly amazing Indian Middle-class has evolved from as a mythical animal right into a powerful new vote bank. Its decisive vote could very well play a part in electing the following Government.

Depending on 2000 01 prices, middle-class classification scaled like annual wages of Rs 2  10 lakh. This season, India had 31.4 million middle class households (160 million individuals).

The basic premise with the NCAER report was that India needed to grow at per-cent with a matching high growthaspirate of urbanisation to result in a larger number of denizens constituting the guts class.

Further ahead, by 2025 26 the amount of middle class households in India probably will more than double from the 2015 16 levels, to 113.8 million households or 547 million individuals.

NCAER continued to plump for a larger community of middle-class households which may translate into huge need for the products such as cars, TVs, computers, ACs, microwaves and credit cards.

This time the info crunching appeared unshakable and seemed distilled and accurate as it was based on empirical evidence rather than some high falutin claims.
