Denny Hecker is grilled about several big pandora jewelry 70% off clearance purchases at bankruptcy hearing

A pair of $30,000 guard dogs. A $60,000 fur coat. Gifts of jewelry worth $47,000.

Trustee Randall Seaver grilled Hecker, the fallen auto mogul, on these and other points in a three hour interrogation at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

Hecker, who until recently owned two dozen auto dealerships, filed for Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy protection in June, listing $18.5 million in assets and $767 million in liabilities. Much of his debt was tied to a court ruling that he owed $477 million to his biggest lender, Chrysler Financial, and the fact that he had personally guaranteed the loans that were his business's lifeblood.

The blurring of personal and business was a recurring theme at Wednesday's hearing.

A standard part of the bankruptcy process, the hearing is referred to as a meeting of creditors, but it's also a chance for trustees to find out whether the assets listed by Hecker are indeed all that he has, or if there are some that were left out inadvertently or on purpose.

Wednesday's hearing attracted fewer than two dozen people, many of them attorneys and media representatives. Hecker, looking tan but gaunt and sporting a navy blue pinstripe suit, appeared in court with two attorneys. At one point, Seaver asked whether Hecker had ever transferred money out of the country.

"Not that I am aware pandora uk sale of," Hecker answered. (Pioneer Press: Richard Marshall)

Seaver again persisted, asking whether Hecker had ever asked someone else to take money outside of the country for him.

To that question, Hecker responded with an emphatic "No."

To many of Seaver's other questions, Hecker said he wasn't sure or didn't know.

At another point, when Seaver asked about 99 business membership units transferred to Toyota in May 2009, Hecker said, "Mr. Seaver, if someone put it in front of me, I signed it."

Seaver also wanted to know why Hecker appeared to routinely put personal property in the name of various limited liability companies he owned. Hecker said that doing so enables him to exempt that property from a prenuptial agreement he signed with his wife, Tamitha, from whom he says he is now separated.

The trustee also presented Hecker with a purchase order he'd obtained for $47,000 worth of jewelry he purchased from Chanel in Las Vegas. When asked where the items went, Hecker said he gave them as gifts, but to whom he could not recall.

The spendy guard dogs came up when a representative from the IRS, Richard Clifton, whom Seaver allowed to question Hecker, asked if Hecker had any pets. Hecker said he owns two German shepherds purchased for $30,000 each. When asked why he didn't list them among his assets, Hecker said it was because they are family pets.

As trustee, Seaver has the power to compel Hecker to produce documentation of where his money went.

On Monday, for example, Seaver filed a demand with the court that Hecker turn over several Rolex watches he had listed in his bankruptcy filing.

By the time of the hearing Wednesday, Hecker had turned over enough of the watches to satisfy Seaver, and the trustee said he would drop his demand.

But one of Hecker's attorneys, Bill Mohrman, got into a heated debate with Seaver after the trustee raised questions about Chrysler Financial's recent allegations that Hecker doctored documents in order to obtain funding. When Seaver tried to get an answer from Hecker about a key exhibit in that case, Mohrman objected, citing New Jersey case pandora charms cheap law.

Seaver also asked Hecker if he bought his wife a fur coat in December 2008. Hecker said no. When asked whom he pandora charms deals bought the coat for, Hecker said he bought it for Christi Rowan, a woman with whom he's had a "personal relationship" for about a year, and he said he paid $60,000 for the coat.

One was John "Chip" Lohmiller, a former University of Minnesota and pro football placekicker who now owns Crosslake Property Solutions, a company that cares for Hecker's Crosslake properties. Hecker said at Wednesday's hearing that pandora charms outlet he used $10,000 of $100,000 he recently borrowed to pay his lawyer and sent another $25,000 to Lohmiller.

Another was Rowan, a photographer who received thousands of dollars in gifts and cash from Hecker, according to his bankruptcy filing. Rowan divorced her husband in September 2008.

On June 21, Rowan called police to report a disturbance at Hecker's Crosslake home. Local police and Crow Wing County deputies arrived and found Hecker's wife, his daughter Holly (from a previous marriage) and an unknown number of children at the home. Lohmiller also arrived at the premises, apparently after being summoned by Tamitha Hecker. Denny Hecker had left the premises by the time police arrived.
