Pennine Way Day 5

We have been seriously unimpressed with Once Brewed (Twice Shy) Youth Hostel especially its drying room that won't dry along no room. We complained to the Warden whose lame excuse was "Well it's full isn't it". He did not notice that the heating was inadequate high was no dehumidification. Letter required to YHA when we return home.

Anyway returning to the business available. As Dil so eloquently input it today can be a "Seriously long fing walk!" over 23 miles. We began the day even as ended the day before, by cheating! We arrive at Alston Youth Hostel at 8pm. Arranged our washing, and cleaned our boots and placed them in the drying room. Gordon the Warden is extremely well organised he sorts out our breakfast and packed lunch requirements and bids us a fantastic night. Sharing the room with us is Ian and a man seems like a Brigadier but doesn't utter a thing. It ended up when I finally got words away from him each day that he would be a foreign man possibly Dutch.

Gravity! Introduced by Isaac Newton (Bastard), it makes that it is hard for you to walk up hills, specifically if you are carrying a backpack. In addition, it should make water run in the top of a hill on the lower ground below. Then why the hell would be the top of the hills the wettest, most boggiest places? The river collects there able to soak from the inadequate boots and leggings with the unsuspecting walker whose spirit has already been sapped after his long trudge uphill.
