(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Your St. Joseph Youth Coalition partnered with local police for National Prescription Drug Gain back Day.
They collected older and unused prescribed remedies to prevent people from abusing these people.
"This is an opportunity for the community comprehend the dangers of prescription drug neglect. And, give them an opportunity to have those unwanted unneeded prescription drugs out of their homes, and dispose of them safely so discussing damaging out environment,In said Robin Hammond.

"We have seen throughout the years, some middle school aged little ones that like to experiment with it. It also becomes an issue where college age students kind of fight with prescription drug use," said Hammond.

The big event allowed people to drive up, and also drop off their unwanted tablets.
"We dump all the pills off in the little boxes. We've got volunteers that peel the labels off of the pill bottles, and those have cleaned, sterilized and reused down at the public overall health board," said Sgt. Stobbs.
Volunteers claimed, although the day was about accumulating and recycling prescribed drugs, many people hope people realize just how dangerous it is to punishment prescriptions.
