Mum incancerplea forher 'G'

Giovanna Ienco   affectionately generally known as "G"   was just 14 when she was clinically determined to have ovarian cancer. Just 10 weeks later, on July 11, 2012, she was dead.

Her mum Angela, who may have made it her mission to raise research funds and awareness, said her only daughter was "ravaged and literally consumed" with the 10kg tumour.

"The memory with this has haunted our entire family. We were, and still, devastated. Not one other child, woman in addition to their family should ever suffer the torture and grief that ovarian cancer caused our household."

Mrs Ienco has urged girls and women to make themselves aware of the signs and signs of the disease.

"Ovarian cancer is basically hard to detect   there is no early detection," she said.

"Usually with ovarian cancer, it's detected when it is too late, it is exactly what happened with my daughter.

"I simply want people to are aware that ovarian cancer is real and it's also deadly."

G's illness first became evident when she was body fat.

"She lost it everywhere, aside from her belly," ray ban sale online Mrs Ienco said.

"She didn't feel pain because (the tumour) grew out just like a pregnancy   if you are pregnant you aren't in pain, you're uncomfortable."

While admitting that some days she wishes she could "stay home and crawl into bed and not face anyone", Mrs Ienco said her fundraising and awareness campaigns since her daughter's death had offered her some form of comfort.

Mrs Ienco raises money for that Royal Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House   where G stayed during her treatment   along with previously taking part in Ovarian Cancer Australia's Afternoon Teal campaign.

Teal will be the international colour for ovarian cancer.

However, in 2010, after initially not having the energy to organise anything for Afternoon Teal in February, Mrs Ienco is encouraging the Sunraysia community to this month fall behind the G Teal Appeal in their own daughter's name.
