Other top images included a leaping mouse, a striking shot of the bones of a tree in a wintry landscape, and close ups of insects on plants.
"I was particularly intrigued by the difference of the gnarled old olive tree and colourful spring flowers. I was feeling I had to capture the landscape and was very encouraged by way of the nursery owners to enter the image into the RHS competition.
"I am quite excited and honoured to get won."
Judge Frank Young, editor of The Lawn magazine, said: "Josie's image of the actual olive tree, underplanted by tulips and within a picturesque view, is not just a beautifully composed photograph; you'll find it screams warm weather and may vibrancy.
"She has captured so well the spirit of a yard that can be seen at that time of the year."
