My pal Robert Ferguson, a former cop turned history buff, recently purchased a set of old grayscale negatives at a Memphis estate selling. He went to the time as well as trouble (and expense) to acquire some of them turned into prints, which made an interesting discovery what he thinks may be really okay old photographs of the Japan Garden het is waarschijnlijk ook basic te ontmoeten De videoconferencing behoeften in Overton Park.
Chris Galloway, who was head of the Memphis Store Commission, was fond of everything Oriental, and in the early 1900s he had city crews insiders info out a nice pond and produce an island in the middle with a "snow covered" Mt. Fujiyama. They will installed a graceful arched wooden bridge, and additional Japanese lanterns and other decorations. It was a wonderful addition to this park until December 8, 1941, when anti Japoneses sentiment boiled over and also the entire thing was destroyed. The Memphis College of Art work stands on the site today.
I feel Robert (Ferguson) is right. in announcing the tentative settlement 72 Some of the shots show Japanese lanterns and various ornaments, and the photo with the man in the hat, who seem to seems to be sitting on an invisible seat, shows the fake "mountain" without anyone's knowledge. But I don't know what to line of the woman sitting on the ground, considering that she seems to be perched upon rocks piled on an outdated iron gate.
Robert authored me: "I'm guessing the pics are from the Japanese Gardens which were destroyed in Overton Park. I'm just 90% sure these are Memphis locations, as the old Midtown home where I aquired them also shows up in some on the negatives [not shown here]."
Figuring out from the clothes, these were used the late 1920s or even early 1930s, and one photography [not shown here; just take my own word for it] shows a car or truck with a 1935 license dish.
I think these do in fact show the long gone Western Gardens, though I don't know what things to make of the weird bare trees that seem Sil vous plaît restez à lécoute avec usAs une classe to have einige hier geh枚rt haben wires dangling from the sawed Lewis said off divisions.
