A group of Las Vegas valley parents intend to take legal action to help keep two theatrical productions off of the Green Valley High School step. The parents insist the school renditions regarding Rent and the Laramie Project are extremely adult and their inclusion violates school district policy.
The Green Valley High School theatre team has chosen controversy, compassion and courage as the design for this year season, list the school editions of Hire and the Laramie Project among their eight productions. Both comprise mature content, but the dispute is whether that content is well suited for high school students.

"I don feel for most students this is particularly sweeping material," said parent or guardian Peter Stoddard.
"There some things that I like, 'Hmm. I hope they not going to do that on stage, but it is a high school production. It has been toned way down for that objective. If she was going to ask them to up there and smoke cooking pot, yeah, I be a little concerned. But clearly not going to happen," said parent Kim Morse.
"I have no problem with additional parents who decide to hold. They have that right similar to we have a right to push forward," said parent James Smith.
