Forty known arsonists in Western Australia will come under closer overview by police in a quote to reduce deliberately lit bushfires this summer.

Strike Force Vulcan will identify and target prolific priority arsonists and rate these folks as high, medium or maybe low risk of re hurtful.
Police will conduct dedicated patrols across the metropolitan area, with a number of high risk locations referred to as being prone to deliberately ignited bushfires.
These patrols will be stepped up in days where the fire threat classification is "extreme" or "catastrophic" and may include aerial surveillance by the law enforcement helicopter.
"It's hoped this excessive police visibility will elevate community awareness and dissuade deliberate acts of arson or accidental or negligent flames starting behaviour," Mr O'Callaghan said.
"WA Police support FESA in the emergency co ordination capacity as well as it hoped a rapid, effective reaction to outbreaks of fire this season is going to reduce the impact on the community.In
The bushfire season runs coming from December 1, 2011 right until March 31, 2012.
On the other hand a new $4 million aerial learning ability helicopter has joined Hearth and Emergency Services rankings in helping battle the bushfire period.
FESA Chief Executive Officer Wayne Gregson said the brand new twin engine B105 Bolkow was equipped with the latest surveillance technology and would be operational for the first time in WA.
"This helicopter is a modern day 'eyes in the sky' for our firefighters," he said.
"This aircraft is fitted with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, such as an infra reddish colored high definition camera, laser maps and a microwave transmitter which can ray real time pictures of the fire returning to our operational management squads.
"This sophisticated equipment can go through smoke and pinpoint the exact location of the fire front.
"It will offer our ground crews a moment bird's eye view of a new bushfire and provide them with critical information more rapidly to help protect lives plus pas daccélération Ne pas perdre mon temps avec des céréales properties under threat."
Mister Gregson said the helicopter will likely be leased each bushfire season for the following five years at a total cost of $6.9 million.
In addition to the fresh helicopter, FESA was working in conjunction with the University of Wa and Landgate to develop a bushfire simulator program, called the Aurora system.
The unit is a computer mapping software that can predict the size as well as spread of a bushfire, according to Mister Gregson.
