Your ANZAC biscuits won first prize in the Junior This baking section in your first competition when you were just 6 years old. Do you still keep in mind the recipe and is it still successful?
I do. And I haven't modified the recipe since then!
I think a lot of it has to do with the cooking shows on television. And I think several young people are watching people television shows and they realize that possibly they could do it, too. At the least by doing it, they'll understand what they're eating, won't many people?
From competitor, you got over them to being a judge. Just what exactly were some of the things you sought out in a winning cake?
If it's a sponge cake, for example, the first thing you have to do is glance at the presentation of it. Then, you cut it right through the hub   each half of the cake must be exactly the same size. For the baker, the only way to do this is to consider each half on skin scales before baking, so that they are all exactly the same weight.
Taste is important, too. You usually cut somewhat triangular piece in the middle of the dessert and taste that (it's only a very small piece). It's hard not to eat it all, but then you think of how many cakes you have to make sure eat the same way! Sometimes, you can find 80 or 90 cakes.
Why do you think CWA is an important school?
Years ago, when Diese können teurer CWA first began, it turned out to help women and their children who live in the country. Even though the country is far more populated now, the need continues. The CWA does a tremendous amount at work that most people never listen to. For example, we have a fund on head office to help when you will find there's disaster. We also help with grants for students going on to university. There were a bit of a slump a few years ago, even so think CWA is undergoing a resurgence.
You wrote that you by no means looked up recipes before you wrote your first book   how many can you say you have in your head?!
I don't essentially know! A lot of those recipes have been passed down through my nanna and mother. I think I had been able to remember so many because in my younger years, I just does such a lot of cooking! I did a husband and a couple of children, and other children that is going to join them after education, and I had to be cooking constantly.
Do you have an all time favourite recipke?

You've become a little bit of a celebrity since your debut about MasterChef. Tell us about the experience.
Totally wonderful! It was a wonderful practical experience that I never ever dreamed of.
