Pennine Way Day 11

Dil is suffering a lttle bit, a problem with the ligaments in their knee. This can be being eased with the walking stick he bought yesterday and my knee support along with a liberal (Never imagined I would here Dil utter that word) anointing of Fiery Jack (That old Peculiar in the Muscle Rub family) on the surrounding muscles. We walked back through the town and immediately lost the path, another case in the one way Pennine Way. After further consultation using the map and the obligatory refolding to determine where you go after the fold from the page, we found the trail. We walked by having a housing estate after that time passed some seriously beautiful houses that point on out to the countryside.

The going was relatively simple, the weather cool and not too unpleasant. Facilitated now as our blisters eased and Dil's consumption of pain killers relieved the pain in his knee. It started to drizzle about a mile out of town and continued on and off for the rest of your day. Thankfully it wasn't as Ray Ban Wayfarer sale blowy since the two previous days in spite of the weather forecast.

Didn't see too many walkers, the Herriot Way walkers which had taken over Hawes Youth Hostel the first sort evening were walking to Askrigg to finish their walk. Andie and Ian set off behind us and customarily walk slightly slower than us. We put this into the extra luxuries packed into Ian's rucksack.

We walked along (yet another) Roman road where for amusement we stare on the sheep once we pass until they get so embarrassed that they wet themselves. It turned out while we were playing mafia wars we met an oldish bloke   ginger beard and gold rim glasses coming one other way. He desired to stop and chat. He was on the Alternative Coast to Coast walk, we feel he named it the Northern Way. He Ray Ban outlet previously been on countless other walks and wanted to tell us about every one of them. His favourite walk was the Pennine Way which he had done Thrice already and was about to do again the following year with a colleague from work. He'd done 32 different long distance walks in the time. His other hobby was railways i am sure he pursued with equal passion. He was the initial (Gortex) Anorak. His real obsession though was talking   he loved it and admitted that he was Ray Ban outlet New York a lot happier when walking with company. We dragged ourselves away and passed a disabled Donkey its back legs clearly lying while travelling beside it.

Dil's knee begun to complain. It got worse once we walked on as did weather. There was no spot to shelter or stop to get a break, not really a wall. We sustained and on, Dil getting slower and slower as we walked. It had been after 2.30pm when we eventually found a bridge more than a rapid brook which has a waterfall leading right into a wonderful gill (Ling Gill) brimming with falls and gullies now a fenced off nature reserve, very nice and picturesque. We thought we could shelter with the wall each of us had a late lunch speculate if by magic, at that moment, the Ray Ban outlet store rain stopped so we ate in wonderful sunshine with your legs hanging in the bank of the river. As we finished and packed our rucksacks willing to start the rain began to fall again.

Dil took another number of pain killers, he was now rattling whilst walked, his pain eased he started walking better. The Ribblehead viaduct arrived to view that we somehow been able to miss. We continued on over a significant rough track with wonderful views over to Horton and its imposing Cement Works. The rain had now stopped as well as the skies were clearing. Ingleborough was now visible sitting high on the sky line. Even as turned down the lane into Horton, Pen y Ghent came into view, it looked daunting. Tomorrow we have to climb this hill.

There were got into Horton immediately after 4pm, we walked down to the Pen y Ghent Caf the location where the three peaks 12 hour walk commences. We had a pint of coffee and Tea and sat and relaxed on an hour. We then wandered back off to the Crown Pub to hold back for George to select us up for your second night. Even as sat outside Andie and Ian arrived using their days walk.

The pub opened and now we had a drink each of us waited. George reached 7pm so we a further drink. We drove into the Buttertubs Pass where we stopped for the brief look (along with a "P" as the beer takes a toll). After that time through Muker. Again it is usually disconcerting to retrace your steps and drive back exactly where we started from after expending much energy and pain. This can be compounded when you have just driven in the hour just what it took you almost 2 days to walk.

At George's we'd our second bath in the trip, it had been so refreshing. Margarita did lots of washing for individuals. That evening we went onto the Black Bull to get a game of Pool.
