A 'sweet fix' for obesity disaster

The girl who has transformed the lives of hundreds of Wagga people hopes the restricted sale of sugar laden drinks at vending machines will probably be rolled out around Ray Ban outlet the world.

It follows the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) a week ago taking an unprecedented help its combat the obesity epidemic by becoming the state's first health body to ban sugary drinks.

Leading food coach and Lighten Wagga founder Judy Davie applauded MLHD for banning the sale of sugar sweetened drinks at vending machines across all its facilities, with the hope of addressing the region's rampant rates of lifestyle related diseases.

Referring after the Riverina was ranked as the most obese region in NSW, based on the Heart Foundation.

"There isn't any doubt in any way that high consumption of sugar can be a contributor to cavities, diabetes, obesity and everything health Ray Ban Wayfarer 90% off related diseases," Ms Davie said.

"It's absolutely fantastic. It' just precisely what needs to happen. I've without a doubt a lot of people follows. It is long overdue."

Ms Davie hoped the move would trigger other organisations and bodies to ban the sale of sugar laden drinks.

With it's possible to of coke containing 10 teaspoons of sugar alone, Ms Davie is pushing to the ban to be legislated.

"You can't ignore these items, there is a rising community demand (for the ban)," Ms Davie said.

"I sure enough have the restricted sales will deter people from consuming it.

"(MLHD) needs to be proud that they have started some tips i believe will inevitably be presented across Australia."

Wagga man Thomas Parker, Ray Ban sunglasses who lost 35 kilograms from giving up soft drink, welcomed your decision.

"It will help," he stated.

"It comes down to your own personal choice whether you need to drink it or not.

"But if it's not there tempting people, chances are they probably won't drink it much."

MLHD chief Jill Ludford said the choice demonstrated that the medical district was setting an illustration for the community.

"The statistics are alarming with seven in 10 adults in MLHD either obese or overweight and one in 10 with diabetes and rising," Ms Ludford said.

"The research evidence is extremely strong to the benefits gained from reducing usage of sugar sweetened drinks."

Staff and unions will likely be consulted to facilitate the removal of the drinks in the machines in coming months.
